DunDraCon 2008: Dark Heresy

Unfortunately, we will not be offering our usual “Big Event” for the L5R setting this year at DDC. However, I will be offering two sessions of the brand new, soon to be released Dark Heresy: Warhammer 40,000 roleplay. The extended write-ups are as follows:

What Rots from Within?

There is Purity of Purpose in the Faith of the Just

An Acolyte in the service of the Inquisition, your duty is to root out the foul stench of heresy, hunt the vile alien, and purge the twisted influence of Chaos. You will tread where others fear, venturing to distant planets, ancient space hulks and the unsavory depths of the hive cities.

Newly pressed into the service of the Emperors’ Inquisition, you are charged to assist and protect a senior Inquisitorial agent in an investigation. You will travel by the ship the Brazen Sky to the barbarian world of Iocanthus, where you will meet Agent Nicodemus.

About this Game

Dark Heresy: Roleplaying in the Grim Darkness of the 41st Millennium. Newly released from Black Industries, Dark Heresy is the much awaited game set in the dark, gothic future of Warhammer 40,000. Similar in tone and system to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Dark Heresy features investigations, action, horror and combat in a dark future.

The game has theme and setting similarities to Call of Cthulhu, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and Mutant Chronicles.

In the Wake of Malice

The difference between heresy and treachery is ignorance

An Acolyte in the service of the Inquisition, your duty is to root out the foul stench of heresy, hunt the vile alien, and purge the twisted influence of Chaos. You will tread where others fear, venturing to distant planets, ancient space hulks and the unsavory depths of the hive cities.

Pursuing leads about the Brotherhood of Malice has led you the mining world of Sepheris Secundus. Before you can truly investigate, you must secure the goodwill of the Commissar of the Imperial Guard detachment which oversees the world – the man called Zurial.

If you’re are DDC and enjoy the WH40k setting, I hope you’ll consider one of the above games.

I will surly miss the “annual” L5R game. Why did you two decide to skip on L5R this year?

I, unfortuantely, will not be running any games. However, the reason is a good one. My significant other and I will be (crossing fingers) having a dealer’s room booth in hopes to sell her art and other items. We haven’t gotten the confirmation yet (and I hope I haven’t jinxed us) but it should happen.

I don’t know what my schedule will be, but perhaps I will be able to attempt to join your game.

Feel free to email me at the provided address.

I’ll miss the game this year as well. I’m taking a break from the large player game this year as a result of my schedule, workload, and dealing with some personal issues (mainly, my Dad’s passing).

We expect to be back at it next year, and quite possibly for KublaCon of this year.

While I have moved away from Northern Ca. and have never had the pleasure of playing in one of these games! I will say that I hope to be able to play in the WH40k rpg. I look forward to seeing all of my friends and dare I say the closing thing to family I have the Monk of this humble site.

    Brian,

Email me at: eblack (at) accuray (dot) com.

This is in regards to making a map for the Gift of Earth game. I spoke a bit about it to Wayne and a little to you as well. Unfortunately I do not seem to have your current email address (no Wayne’s).

My schedule is becoming full up with some side projects and this is one I’d like to talk to you guys about and perhaps get into motion.

    Eli
